Betrifft Grand Canyon

"The Federal Highway Administration has been resurfacing and improving several intersections and about 15 miles of roads at the South Rim. Although delays will occur throughout 2018, The Federal Highway Administration has advised there will be significant impact for all visitors to the Historic Village area (includes accessibility to all of the lodges) from May 2 to May 12, 2018. This part of the construction project will cause periods of delays or limited access, limited parking, detours and road closures.

Additionally, there will be no private access for parking or driving to the shuttle stops at the Kaibab Trailhead from April 30th through May 15, 2018 during this time. Hikers planning on using the South Kaibab trail are encouraged to use the hiker shuttle. Private access for drop-offs will be the Pipe Creek stop. The shuttle will also drop off hikers at the Pipe Creek stop May 9 to 12. The Kaibab trailhead is a 5 to 10 minute walk along the greenway trail from the Pipe Creek stop.

It is anticipated that the road project will be completed by then end of 2018. You can learn more about this ongoing project at the National Park Service's dedicated page here."
